Chairman of Hutchinson Builders, Scott Hutchinson is a fourth generation ‘builder’ but he’s also a passionate live music lover and a driving force behind one of Brisbane’s stand out newer venues, The Fortitude Music Hall.

Scott will join Property Leaders Brisbane “On the Couch” to talk about his success in these two diverse activities, including how he’s driven ‘Hutchies’ turnover from $6m to $2.8b.

He will also talk about his personal interest in preserving Brisbane’s live music scene and how Hutchies’ substantial philanthropic contribution has helped to make a difference in the city and beyond.

In this “On the Couch” Q&A event, Scott will share insights on Hutchies’ history, his own career highlights and challenges, and outline his vision for the future of Brisbane and South East Queensland.

Remember the good ol’ days where we only had a pandemic to worry about? Our topics of conversation would focus on vaccinations and lockdowns, home schooling, and when we would be allowed back in pubs and restaurants.

So much has happened since then. War in Ukraine. A global energy crisis. Rising inflation. It is so easy to look on all this with a feeling of hopelessness and negativity.

But we are here to demonstrate to you that the days that follow are not that bleak. That there is so much, in fact, to look forward. That optimism is the key to our future.

This is our annual outlook event where we will bring together a diverse panel of four speakers who will each present their 5 Big Ideas for the next decade. But this year, there is a twist!  Each speaker will only have one minute and 30 seconds to present each of their ideas. At the end of their allotted time, a buzzer will sound, and they will be forced to move on to the next Big Idea.

High achievers, striving for excellence and focused on changing the sporting landscape – join our panel of speakers sharing their insights.
Our panel features:

  • Dr Sarah Kelly OAM, Member of Brisbane 2032 Games Organising Board, Deputy Chair of the Brisbane Lions Football Club, and Deputy Chair of Tourism and Events Qld

  • Breeanna Brock, CEO, Brisbane Lions AFLW

  • Amanda Mather, CEO, Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association

These three exceptional women will share their insights on what the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will mean for women in sport, their experience on leadership and the importance of inclusion.
Following the aftermath of the Federal Election, we think that is time to have a moment of reflection and ask the question: what would you do if you got a chance to be Prime Minister?

Property Leaders Brisbane (in a weird mash of ‘Brisbane’s Got Talent’, a ‘Pecha Kucha’ style presentation, and a leaders debate) has gathered would-be candidates to battle to the (metaphorical) death for your vote to the next Prime Minister.

Are we there yet? The question has been front of mind for all of us over the last two years as we searched for the end of the pandemic. 2022 could be the year!
Whilst the pandemic is not over, with vaccines rolled out, borders re-opening and an Olympic Games to plan for, there is plenty to be optimistic about in Brisbane.
